The Chelmsford are set to walk 13.5 miles for the charity, CALM

A team of around 18 staff, both clinical and non-clinical, from The Chelmsford Private Day Surgery Hospital will embark on a 13.5 mile walk around Mersea Island on Sunday 30th July. The team will be walking to raise money and awareness for the charity, CALM – Campaign Against Living Miserably. Each year a team from The Chelmsford take part in charity work, however this year the cause is very close to our hearts. In April this year, we lost a dear member of our team after he took his own life. Coming as such of a surprise to all of us we wanted to help raise awareness for this amazing charity and get more men talking and getting the help they need.

CALM are an award-winning charity who are dedicated to preventing male suicide, in 2015 75% of all UK suicides were male. The charity offers; support to men in the UK of any age, challenge a culture that prevents men seeking the help they need,  work with other charities to push for changes in policy and practice and support those bereaved by suicide.
