Reflexology

Reflexology is a gentle, complementary health therapy based on the principle that reflex areas on the feet and hands correspond to all parts of the body. It has been used in Egypt, China and India since ancient times. Reflexology is a safe, non-invasive therapy and its positive benefits can be enjoyed by anyone of any age. It aims to complement mainstream medicine and may be used alongside it.

How can reflexology help me?

Reflexology may help a wide range of ailments including:

  •  Headaches
  •  Sleep Disorders
  •  Menstrual Problems
  •  Muscular and Joint Pain
  •  Hormonal Imbalances
  •  Conception Issues
  •  Sinus Problems
  •  Stress Related Illnesses

Reflexology promotes:

  • Good health
  • A general sense of well being

How does reflexology work?

Pressure is applied to specific areas on the feet triggering a release of stress and tension in the corresponding area of the body. The release of tension may unblock nerve impulses, improve blood supply to all parts of the body and may stimulate the body’s innate healing capacity.

About the treatment session

The treatment session lasts about 50 minutes. Your first session will last a little longer as it begins with a free consultation to gain an understanding of your general health. This helps in the planning of your treatment, which is tailored to suit your individual needs.
Gentle pressure is applied to the whole of the foot area in a unique way. The treatment is relaxing and soothing, although there may be momentary discomfort in some reflexes. This is an indication of tension or imbalance in a corresponding part of the body.
Typically clients find the treatment therapeutic and express relief from stress and tension. They feel totally relaxed and a sense of calm.
Some clients use the therapy as a form of relaxation, to harmonise and maintain the body’s equilibrium.
