Sports Injuries and Sports Medicine

What services are offered for sports injuries and medicine?

At The Chelmsford Private Hospital, Essex we are committed to helping you overcome any sports injuries you sustain. Experts in their fields, our team can offer you a prompt assessment, diagnosis and treatment. You may be a professional athlete or you might play a team sport as a hobby – whatever your age or level of ability, our experts can advise on a wide variety of sports-related or general musculoskeletal injuries such as osteoarthritis. We understand that you want to get back to the level of fitness you were at before your injury, and we can help you do just that. We aim to make sure your recovery is as quick and complete as possible – while minimising the impact on your life.

Consultation, diagnosis and treatment

We offer a dedicated physiotherapy consultation service and fully-equipped, air conditioned gym – meaning you can enjoy the complete level of care you deserve. Our experienced physiotherapists are committed to providing you with the professional treatment and rehabilitation you need to recover.

As part of the diagnosis and treatment process we work to isolate the underlying causes of your injury so we can identify how similar problems can be avoided in the future. Whatever your sport, our advice is relevant to your needs and includes warm-up and training ideas. We even offer a full biomechanical assessment to evaluate muscle strength and joint motion in limbs.

Our imaging services use state-of-the-art technology and include x-ray, ultrasound, and MRI scans. Once this is complete, our team of musculoskeletal radiologists will give you a full and accurate diagnosis, and keep you well-informed so you can make the right decisions about your treatment.

Additionally our sports physician is trained in using our high resolution, state-of-the-art diagnostic ultrasound and can undertake scans during the consultation where appropriate to facilitate early diagnosis. He also uses ultrasound to guide a variety of injection therapies for a wide range of soft tissue and joint conditions (See below)

We also have a team of consultant orthopaedic surgeons who perform a range of sports-related procedures. From keyhole surgery and the treatment of fractures, to the repair of ligament, tendon or nerve injuries they are experienced and skilled. At Aspen Healthcare we have helped a multitude of sporting patients such as cyclists, skiers, athletes, footballers, gymnasts, runners and many more. It is our ability to offer the very best procedures and treatments that have meant these athletes can return to their sporting best in a timely way.
