FODMAPS (for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and functional bowel disorders); Sports Nutrition (evidenced based advice, on appropriate sports nutrition tailored to the individuals sport and training programme); Diabetes (dietary advice for type II diabetes); Lipid/Cholesterol lowering advice (using the ultimate cholesterol lowering diet); Inflammatory bowel disease – Crohns disease (using the LOFFLEX diet); Nutrigenomics (involves a screen of your DNA for certain genetic variations that have been shown to affect how people respond to nutrition and lifestyle factors).
Nicole has practised as a registered Dietitian since graduating in 1986. Initially she started practising at Russell’s Hall Hospital in Dudley in 1987 where her interest in bowel disorders and gastroenterology developed. Nicole then moved to work in Saudi Arabia (1989) where she had the opportunity to gain experience on a burns unit, ITU and paediatrics. She moved into industry (1991) where Nicole practised as a nutritionist providing education and training to healthcare professionals. Nicole then moved to work at King George’s Hospital in Redbridge (1994) as the head of the Dietetic service and implemented the LOFFLEX diet for Crohn’s disease and the Addenbrooke’s Hospital exclusion diet for IBS. She moved to the Oldchurch and now Queen’s hospital in 2001 as head of the Dietetic service and continued her clinical interests and developed the need for Dietitians’ for bariatric surgery, diabetes, paediatrics, health promotion. Nicole moved into working as a freelance Dietitian in 2011. She has worked as a freelance sports Dietitian since 1994 working with local agencies.
Nicole is a full member of the British Dietetic Association and registered with the Health Professions Council (DT4024)
Nicole is a member of several specialist Dietetic groups including; Dietitian’s Obesity Management(DOM), Food Allergy and Intolerance group and Sports Dietitian’s UK (SDUK).
