QualificationsMA MD FRCS (Urol)
Urology, Lower Urinary Tract symptoms including infection, Stones, PSA assessment, Renal Laparoscopy.
I Qualified as a doctor 1998. After training at medical school in Cambridge and London I completed basic surgical training on the south coast. I then spent two years studying towards my MD thesis at the Clinical Effectiveness Unit of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. This unit specialises in surgical audit and national studies of the quality of surgical care. My thesis looked at the outcomes of urological cancer surgery in England and ways in which these outcomes could be measured.
I was appointed to the South Thames Higher urological surgical training scheme in 2004. The final two years of which were at Guy’s Hospital London where I completed a fellowship in stone surgery and also received sub-specialist training in complex renal cancer surgery.
During my time at Guy’s, the department changed its out-patient set-up to a novel “one stop” diagnostic clinic service, founded on the principles of patient-centred care. This proved instrumental to how I work today. I have published extensively in the medical literature in all these areas.
I hold an NHS post at Mid Essex Hospitals NHS Trust and I’m a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (Member of the Sections of Oncology and Endourology), and the European Association of Urology.
Please note these are regular clinics, other times may be available by appointment
