Super specialist, trainer and expert in all cosmetic procedures including breast augmentation (the J Frame), mastopexy, breast reduction, mini facelift, Blepharoplasty, neck lift, rhinoplasty, Brazilian abdominoplasty, inner thigh and upper arm reduction, buttock augmentation, fat grafting and non surgical aesthetics, ie fillers and Botox.
Professor James Frame FRCS, FRCS (Plast) is an accomplished and respected aesthetic surgeon who is currently senior consultant surgeon at The Chelmsford. Professor Frame also leads and develops research interests at the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PMI) of Anglia Ruskin University, where he resides as Professor of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at its Faculty of Health and Social Care. Under his guidance, the PMI provides a regional nucleus of postgraduate education and training, alongside medical research and development.
Professor Frame has always been a high achiever, academically and professionally. He was brought up in Dunedin, New Zealand, where he won scholarships into secondary education. On returning to England with his family to complete his secondary education, he then gained entry into St Bartholomew’s Hospital to study medicine, where he qualified in 1977. He then embarked on his selected career as a plastic surgeon, training at Barts, Southampton, Chelmsford, UCH, St Andrew’s Billericay and Mount Vernon in Middlesex.
Professor Frame is a prolific published author of over eighty peer renowned papers, book chapters and articles on burn care, trauma, and reconstruction and in aesthetic surgery. As a Senior House Officer and Registrar, he was the main author and researcher in the field of advanced burn injury care, tissue transplantation and regeneration. His continued his special interests within the NHS including burn care, breast cancer reconstruction and the surgical repair of soft tissue sports injuries particularly in elite athletes.
He has spent time as a Visiting Professor in Singapore, Australia and the United States and has strong international links in research and training. These were brought about by the awards of travelling Fellowships – in particular, the Winston Churchill Memorial Fellowship which allowed him extensive exposure to USA facilities.
After leaving the NHS in 2001, Professor Frame went on to set up the directorate of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery at Springfield Hospital, Chelmsford. He also supports young plastic surgeons in their training, and is the co-founder of the post graduate Diploma in Aesthetic Surgery at Barts and the London Hospital. The Centre for Aesthetic Surgery will be established as one of the Centres within the Postgraduate Medical Institute, with Professor Frame at the helm, heading up the new Mentor Scheme. The scheme is aimed at developing the skills of new aesthetic surgeons, and Professor Frame acts as lead plastic surgeon with a professional team of established plastic surgeons on the mentoring panel all able to lend their expertise to the mentoring if these young aesthetic surgeons.
Professor Frame also supports nursing staff, and under his expert guidance, aesthetic surgery nurse education in plastic surgery and burns has recently developed into a nationally recognised standard at Anglia Ruskin and Springfield Hospital.
He has a very large and successful cosmetic surgery practice with a wide referral base, including celebrity clients, and also continues with his special interests in breast cancer reconstruction and surgical repair of soft tissue sports injuries.
Professor Frame is an active member of a number of professional associations. He is President of the UK Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (UKAAPS), Executive Committee Member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS), Chairman of Committee and the UK National Secretary in the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS), a member of American Plastic Surgery associations and a leader of research at the Postgraduate Medical Institute of Anglia Ruskin University.
